Melanie C regrets not being more outspoken.
The 48-year-old singer – known in the girl group as Sporty Spice – was delighted to see her 13-year-old daughter Scarlet’s generation have a voice on issues affecting them and hoped she would do the same.
In an interview with Heat Magazine, she said: “I wish I had more say in every aspect of my life.
“Be strong, follow your gut, and it’s really important to speak up.
“I think people are doing it more now – I think we live in a society where things are changing and my daughter’s generation has definitely been more outspoken.
“That’s what I regret the most.”
The ‘2 Becomes 1’ singer admits she has had multiple disagreements with her bandmates – Mel B, Emma Bunton, Jerry Horner and Victoria Beckham – but insists that if It would be “weird” that they have “the same belief” about everything.
When asked about feeling “silent in the band” and if she was “frustrated” by what her bandmates said to the media, she said: “Even now that happens!
“Usually if a hot girl does or says it, it’s reflected in all of us, which is ridiculous because bands are about personality.
“We are all different, we have different personalities, we have different beliefs in certain areas.
Obviously, we share a lot.
“The band is about the inclusive, LGBTQ+ community of which we are allies, obviously fighting for girls’ equality.
“So, yes, some things do share the same belief.
“But there are other things we have very different beliefs about.
“I think it’s really weird to think we think the same thing about everything.
“You know, we’re very different people.”
