The 2023 Men’s Open at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club in Abu Dhabi tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday will feature 64 players.
The 36-hole event is the 14th of 17 in the Emirates Golf Federation’s (EGF) Men’s Medal of Honor for 2022-2023. The winner gets 30 points and the top 20 players get Medal of Honor points.
Defending champion Jay Mullane (Jumeirah Golf Estates) and recent The Els Club Men’s Open winner is one of seven of the top eight on the EGF honor roll for the event, which kicks off for the first round from 7am Point to start, two tees to start.
Sunday’s second round will be played with the last overall leader, all from the first tee.
Jonathan Selveraj (Trump International GC) will play the first shot from the tee alongside current Honor Roll leader Sam Mullane (Jumeirah Golf Estates).
Game 2 saw defending champions Jay Mullan (JGE) and Joe Jones (Langland Bay Golf Club, England) tee off from tee 10 at 7am.
The field consists of 24 players and has a handicap of +6.3, with Selveraj being the lowest on the field.
Eight UAE golf club representatives took part, as did 20 players from the host golf club, as well as a number of international players.
