Mercedes’ multidisciplinary journey moves from being a Product Manager, E-commerce Product Manager, E-commerce Manager (contributed to building and launching 3 e-commerce from scratch in Kuwait to a global audience), Business Development Manager to Territory Channel Manager at Microsoft Kuwait, where she held responsibility for the growth of a multi-million $ business. She is a live testimony to how a growth mindset and risk-taking can help shape a career so beautifully and create an impact in others’ lives to advance communities.
Mercedes was 1 of the 30 women selected out of 500 applicants who had participated in the Global Women in Leadership program by Georgetown University x Saudi Arabia’s Qiyadat in 2022. An empowering exclusive program for KSA and G20 for participants to empower their economies to thrive.
Mercedes is committed to women empowerment and D&I and aims to bring unique perspectives to the surface in the pursuit of empowering sustainable economies at scale. Mercedes had been elected as Committee Co-Lead of the US-born WorldWide Technical Women at Microsoft community, in addition, she was a Core Team Member of the Diversity and Inclusion Employee Resource Group at Microsoft Spain, and built bridges across continents.
As part of Mercedes efforts to empower communities: she is a member of the Women in Business Group at the American Chamber of Commerce in Kuwait, a Board Member at the newly launched Spanish Business Council in Kuwait, a collaborator, Senior Mentor, and participated as Guest Speaker at the United Nations House and the National Bank of Kuwait
It has become clear after talking to Mercedes’ her mission is to advance communities by empowering women to thrive and to give back to causes that contribute to that purpose, tapping into the same, Mercedes had the honor of participating as a guest speaker at the National Bank of Kuwait on the topic of Courageous Leadership as part of a series to help young females’ talents at NBK to develop the courage, vision, and skills to take on leadership roles with Harvard Kennedy School-born NGO G4G- Kuwait chapter, where she had the pleasure to share her personal relentless journey building bridges across continents and the personal collective efforts in advancing communities. During the program with the National Bank of Kuwait, it was a privilege to have the speech, support, wisdom, and leadership of His Excellency Mr. Miguel Moro Aguilar the Ambassador of Spain to the State of Kuwait on such a remarkable occasion. Spain supports women empowerment and female representation in leadership roles to contribute to the economic fabric and development for sustainable and inclusive prosperity.
