MG Motor unveils all-new 2024 MG HS PHEV

MG Motor has announced the launch of its first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), the 2024 MG HS PHEV, in the Middle East. Offering customers in the region a low-carbon alternative, the dynamic SUV is the perfect blend of efficiency and performance.

Powered by MG’s 1.5-liter high-efficiency turbo engine, the MG HS PHEV can travel over 64 kilometers with its 16.6 KW electric motor alone, and its combined output of 258 horsepower enables it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds. The maximum torque is 480 Nm, the top speed can reach 190 km/h, and the gear can be changed by shift paddles.

The MG HS PHEV boasts excellent fuel efficiency, consuming only 1.8 liters per 100 km. This remarkable fuel consumption ensures drivers can go further with less fuel, thereby reducing their overall carbon footprint. Rated at 4.3 grams per kilometer under the WLTP standard, the plug-in hybrid significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional internal combustion engine vehicles.

When it comes to charging, the 2024 MG HS PHEV offers a convenient option for its electric motor. The charging time for a full charge is approximately 4.5 hours, allowing users to easily charge the battery overnight or during the day. For users who need fast charging, fast charging can provide 80% battery capacity in just 35 minutes, which is very suitable for mobile charging needs.

Building on the success of the sporty SUV, the arrival of the all-new MG HS PHEV, the MG HS is another major step forward for MG Motor’s offerings as the brand continues to expand choice for car buyers in the region with its highly advanced and well-equipped sedans and SUV series. It joins the recently launched MG ONE and the all-new MG RX5 models in the British-born car brand’s rapidly expanding Middle Eastern lineup.

The sporty look of the MG HS is based on flowing lines that flow down the bonnet and sides before rising at the rear to sweep over the taillights, which consist of 21 individual LEDs that light up in sequence. Framed by a star grille, the MG HS features twin exhaust tips and aluminum bumpers, with a choice of five paint colors to complete its bold, confident look.

The MG HS’s cabin embodies the car’s sporty character, with racing-inspired bucket seats in premium LUX trim. Designed for optimum comfort, these stylish seats are made from premium leather from the Bader company in Germany, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of premium leather for the automotive industry. The three-spoke leather steering wheel features sport stitching and multifunction buttons. Customers can choose from three attractive interior color schemes.

Equipped with smart features, the MG HS is full of user-friendly touches to ensure its drivers feel comfortable, connected and in full control at all times. Up front, not one but two high-quality displays.

The 12.3-inch virtual instrument display located behind the steering wheel provides a breakthrough in the way key information is conveyed to the driver. The 10.1-inch high-resolution high-performance touchscreen is compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Adaptive cruise control, speed assist, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning system, lane keep assist, blind-spot detection system, push-button ignition, keyless entry and a rearview camera are all standard, with 360-wide options on models The Degree Parking View Camera gives drivers complete control and peace of mind while on the road.

The standard electronic stability program includes eight safety functions, ABS, EBD, CBC, TCS, VDC, HAZ, HHC, and BDW, which enhance the driving stability in extreme road conditions or aggressive driving situations to ensure driving safety.

Both the MG HS and MG PHEV are available in COM or LUX options, prices will be announced soon according to each market.
