Less than three months after Tanya Davis opened Vegas Lounge & Bar to bring a little Sin City glitz to Broad Ripple, she’s added another Las Vegas-themed attraction to the local landscape, this one in Fort Benjamin Harrison.
Her new MGM Lounge and Bar, in partnership with her sister Jaquita Savage, takes over the Eddy’s Sports Pub location at 9105 E. 56th St.
The sisters bought the company in mid-August.
This bar is frequented by guests for billiards and lunches including Philly cheesesteaks, jalapeños, wings and fries.
MGM will not be like Vegas Lounge723 N. Broad Ripple Ave., with chandeliers and expensive cognacs—Davis spent about $350,000 to prepare the place.
However, the new owner will beautify the loft space; paint, update the bar, replace the furniture and install industrial lighting.
“We’ll have that sense of movement; but it’s like you’re in a casino,” Davis said. “We wanted to spice it up a bit.”
new food and entertainment
A new menu is in the works, featuring what Davis calls fusion pub food. She plans to make seafood kebabs with shrimp and sausage. Meanwhile, Savage is excited to add dishes like chili cheese fries and chicken nachos, which were popular at the GQ Grill she ran a few years ago.
Both sisters own childcare and medical services companies.
Savage said Davis contacted her to join the program after she started work in the Vegas lounge.
“I thought it would be a great experience for me; from that point on. Now I’m a bar owner!” Savage said.

While retaining the sports bar, the 6,000-square-foot space will provide a wide variety of entertainment.
Savage and Davis immediately launched a mechanical bull riding competition.
They are now casting for a monthly “Dating Game” type live show. The winner will receive a dating gift card.

Davis set out to find a second Las Vegas Strip-themed location, even as she was building the lounge at Broadrip. People feeling shut down by the coronavirus pandemic are eager to get back to restaurants and clubs.
“I want to be able to bring it to every corner of the city,” she said. “We’ve been in this house for years. The pandemic isn’t going away. I want to make it a place people can come out and enjoy.”
