The world-renowned Michelin Guide, which lists the best addresses for fine dining, will launch its first Abu Dhabi restaurant selection in November, making the city the 41st destination covered by the Michelin Guide worldwide.
Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guide, said: “The Michelin Guide inspectors have been working in Abu Dhabi for some time now, discovering and enjoying the rich and varied cuisine the city has to offer, from creative and international dishes to more of the region’s traditional cuisine , such as the Middle East, Lebanon and, of course, the UAE.
“The inspectors were delighted with the diversity and quality revealed by Abu Dhabi’s cuisine, and they can’t wait to share their findings with our international culinary community.”
The Michelin Guide Abu Dhabi 2023 selection will be based on the tried-and-true methodology used by Michelin Guide inspectors around the world, based on its five generally applicable criteria:
• Quality of ingredients
• Cooking skills
• Harmony of tastes
• Show chef’s personality through cuisine
• Consistency over time and across menus
These apply to all selected restaurants to help foodies from around the world make informed choices from high-quality options.

The Michelin Guide communicates its restaurant reviews through an extensive system of distinction, the most respected of which are its globally renowned Michelin stars. In addition to the coveted star rating, the selection will include the popular Bib Gourmand category, which is awarded to establishments that offer value-for-money three-course meals.
