Although the demand for medical equipment has increased during the epidemic Pandemic, Millions of dirty gloves were imported into the United States, CNN report.

After months of investigation, CNN stated that Thailand’s warehouse “stores tens of millions of counterfeit and second-hand nitrile gloves. According to import records, the dealers who buy the gloves are in progress.”

CNN also reported that distributors are “trying to profit from the demand for medical-grade nitrile gloves,” which has increased due to the pandemic.

Miami businessman Tarek Kirschen ordered gloves worth about $2 million and sold them to US distributors. Then he began to receive complaints because the gloves were dirty.

“These are reusable gloves. They are washed and recycled,” he told CNN. “Some of them are dirty. Some of them have blood stains. Some of them are marked with a date two years ago… I can’t believe my eyes.”

An expert told CNN that a large number of low-quality products have entered. “There is a lot of inferior products entering,” Stein said, “a steady stream of dirty, second-hand and substandard gloves are entering the United States, and it seems that federal authorities are only now beginning to understand its huge scale.”

Due to the temporary suspension of medical equipment import regulations, it is difficult for the United States to deal with the import problem, which is still the case.

The FDA did not comment on this particular incident, but said, “By using our experience in investigating, inspecting, and reviewing medical products at borders and domestic trade, a series of measures have been taken to find and prevent those who sell unapproved products. people.”

Currently, the relevant investigation is ongoing.
