Miralem Pjanic released from Barcelona contract to join UAE Sharjah FC

Barcelona Miralem Pjanic’s contract has been released – the 32-year-old signed for United Arab Emirates Sharjah Football Club.

Pjanic has agreed a two-year deal, a third option for Sharjah, who finished second in the UAE Pro League last season.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international was loaned to Turkey’s Besquitas last season, making 26 appearances in all competitions.

In his only season with Barcelona, ​​2020-21, he made 30 appearances but struggled to secure a place in the first team, starting just six times alliance matches.

Pjanic from Juventus In the summer of 2020, Arthur Melo took a different approach. He made 178 appearances in four years at Juventus, having previously played for Roma.

He returned to Barcelona after a stint at Besiktas and was given the number 16, having worn the number 8 previously. Pjanic featured in pre-season under Xavi, albeit as an unused substitute in all four of La Liga’s opening games.

Pjanic will wear the number 10 shirt in Sharjah and his squad also includes former Barcelona player Paco Alcacer.
