Michelin has unveiled its new restaurant selection in the 2023 Michelin Guide Dubai, which recognizes 3 new 1-star restaurants, 1 new 2-star restaurant and 17 Bib Gourmand restaurants.
A total of 90 restaurants, covering 23 different types of cuisine, attracted the attention of the famous anonymous Michelin inspectors for the second edition of the Michelin Guide Dubai.

17 restaurants featured in Bib Gourmand
Last week, the “Michelin Guide” announced the 2023 Bib Gourmand recommendation, adding 3 new items: 21 grams, 3 Phil and Aamara; a total of 17 restaurants.
This year, all 2022 Bib Gourmands maintained their distinction.
Two restaurants have been awarded Green Michelin stars for their commitment to more sustainable cuisine. Introduced in 2020, the Michelin Green Star highlights restaurants that are at the forefront of sustainable practices, delivering gourmet experiences while adopting an environmentally-friendly approach.
A new addition to the guide, Boca offers cheerful and sunny Mediterranean cuisine while following an impressive sustainability philosophy, including the use of local produce, active and conscious waste management, valuing resources and using renewable energy .
Teible is a cool eatery whose menu showcases seasonal, local ingredients, combining innovation and simplicity to enhance its potential. Delicious cooking illustrates a sustainable approach that focuses on seasonality and wholeness.
Michelin Special Award
With special awards, the Michelin Guide aims to highlight the amazing diversity of roles in the hospitality industry, as well as the most talented and inspiring professionals.
This year, the Young Chef Award went to Omkar Walve of avatāra. Born in India, Omkar is a very talented young chef who leads a team of delicious and sophisticated Indian vegetarian dishes. Omkar clearly inspires his colleagues and leads the operation with such professionalism, whether it’s cooking or serving the food himself. He has a calm and nurturing demeanor and an exceptional palate. Here is a young chef with a bright future.
Arturo Scamardella of Dinner at Heston Blumenthal was awarded the Sommelier Award for his excellent advice, knowledge, enthusiasm and understanding of diners’ needs. Whether it is a simple glass or a bottle of fine wine, it is served in an elegant and professional manner. Arturo Scamardella’s cellar is constantly expanding; the wine list is a remarkable read and even includes a fine selection of English sparkling wines.
The service award was presented by Gastón Acurio to the La Mar team, managed by Tomislav Lokvicic.
