In its previous editions, the exhibition has helped thousands of Emirati students identify their higher education majors after high school.
As Gold Sponsors, Abu Dhabi Ports and ADMA participated in the event to introduce students to the logistics industry.
Dr. Yaser Fouad Al Wahedi, Director of ADMA, told Gulf News: “The exhibition is a pioneering platform that has proven over nine years to be very effective in raising students’ awareness of the majors available after secondary school studies. It is important for the Faculty to participate in this exhibition, Because it provides students with an introductory course in the supply industry, which serves a vitally traded sector of the economy.”
The UAE Cabinet, Ministry of the Interior and Abu Dhabi Ports are Gold Sponsors of the event.
Dr Al Wahedi said: “The Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy was formally launched following the first board meeting in December 2019. It was established with the vision of wise leadership, within Abu Dhabi Ports Group, to be the leader of the group. The Knowledge Division, offering programs in all areas of the supply industry.
“The various courses of the academy cover all the needs of the supply industry. In the technical field, the academy offers courses certified by the Ministry of Education and the Federal Maritime Administration, covering nautical science, marine engineering as well as other fields such as ship traffic control and safety matters related to the maritime sector. It is offered to high school graduates and university engineering students.”
He added that the academy also provides training courses for bachelor degree holders on the financial, administrative and legal aspects of the supply industry.
UAE Naval Cadet Qasem Sulaiman Al Ameri told Gulf News: “I love working in logistics and ports. These were my interests when I was a high school student. Going to the best academy simulation center, I gained valuable experience and expertise that prepared me physically and mentally for fieldwork.”
Al Ameri added: “The college also provided me with a unique opportunity to join one of the best shipping and logistics companies in the world. I benefited from scientific and academic services when I was a student , and gained practical experience.”
Another naval cadet, Hamad Al Menhali, said: “I have loved the maritime sector, ports and logistics since I was a child. When I got this opportunity through the Educational Interface Programme, I did not hesitate to join the academic studies and hands-on program offered by the program. “
He added: “My journey at the Academy has included many unique elements that have helped to shape my personality, knowledge and skills. The Academy has world-class captains and senior engineers, and their experience has opened a window for me to learn about books. A new dimension of professional life that is not available on the internet.
“My journey at the Academy has given me the opportunity to meet the biggest international companies and institutions in the field of logistics services, which has helped me gain important experience and knowledge. I am really proud of my experience.”
In addition, the academy offers training programs for professionals in the supply industry and conducts consultancy research for companies in the industry. In addition, the academy has an “ambitious” research program aimed at developing new technologies that will help the industry grow and modernize,” the director said.
