Abu Dhabi: Ritesh Patel, owner of Abu Dhabi T10 side Morrisville SAMP Army, has announced the construction of a $100 million stadium in North Carolina that will host the 2024 T20 World Cup.

As an Indian, cricket is in your blood. I have been in the US since the past 27 years. I have played and been involved in cricket but since the last few years cricket is going to a different level. That’s what drew my attention to cricket, more so in franchise cricket, where we are now,” Patel told cricket nation At the same time, he expressed his love for the gentleman’s sport.

“The unique thing about my team is that I have two big guys. Meeon Ali, the current World Cup winner, and David Miller, the IPL champion. They won two big games and that’s the most important part. We have the fastest players in the world Anrich Nortje, the bowler in the team, and all the other players like Shimron Hetmyer, who is known for hitting big sixes, and Sheldon Cottrell were there. The team has balance, and that’s the best thing. We also had some guys from America, They did a great job and came here to get more exposure,” the SAMP Army owner said of his team.

“In the U.S., I’m building a stadium, which is a $100 million project. It’s in North Carolina and it’s going to be next year and the T20 World Cup in 2024, and we’re looking forward to playing some games there as well. In the last few years, as mentioned, cricket has really taken off in the US,” Patel revealed.

“I am not involved in the Indian Premier League (IPL). I have some involvement but not any real involvement that could happen in the future. We are willing to take it one step at a time. The IPL is in the pipeline but with T10 – we have passed a milestone, There are several other milestones coming. Slowly, we are getting there,” he further added.

T10 is now the shortest format in the game, and Patel thinks the latest format has a future.

“T20 is attractive but T10 is more attractive and the reasoning behind that is the shorter format, a lot of people just watch the highlights now, that’s kind of a highlight. It’s a format over 10 games, come on, it’s More people will pay attention, and more attention will lead to more ratings. The media and everything are there too. More and more people want to market and sponsor products,” he concluded.
