During a visit to the United Arab Emirates, a delegation from the Islamic Emirate led by acting Defense Minister Mullah Yakub Mujahid asked Afghans to return to the country and participate in their country’s development.
In a meeting with Afghan businessmen in the UAE, the acting defense minister said he would discuss with senior UAE officials how to improve relations between the two countries and address challenges faced by Afghans in the Gulf state.
“If there is a visa problem, a flight problem or a prisoner problem, we will meet with the relevant officials. Even if there are problems in Afghanistan, such as passport problems or other problems, I will immediately do my best to deal with these cases,” the defense minister said.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Islamic Emirate said the delegation will meet with UAE leaders and senior officials to discuss various topics.
“The trip is aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries, helping the 300,000 Afghans working in Dubai to meet their challenges, among other things that will be on the agenda. He will meet with the sheikh and other elders of the country. He will also Meeting with several ministries,” said Zabiullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate.
“They may have a meeting, but it’s not about political negotiations, it’s not about any political process,” said Shahabuddin Drawa, acting minister of mines and petroleum.
For the first time in more than 15 months, former President Hamid Karzai left the country at the same time as a delegation of current government officials on Saturday.
“The reason he is staying in Dubai is that he will get a German visa there … If any Afghan wants to visit him in Dubai, it will not be a problem,” said Shahzai Da Masood, a close associate of Karzai.
“These are planned trips where former and current politicians travel at the same time and meet there for a day or two. These meetings are good for the future of Afghanistan,” political expert Islamla Muslim said.
