My.Games has opened a new office in Abu Dhabi to expand its international presence.
Announcing the opening of AD Gaming, a local partnership program designed to assist gaming companies such as Unity and Ubisoft to do business in the region.
As Yas Creative Hub, My.Games staff in Abu Dhabi will handle the company’s game publishing in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
The team will also hire local game developers and work with partners to launch internship programs to help expand the region’s developer talent pool.
“Abu Dhabi’s strategic location and thriving gaming ecosystem make it an important location for the overall gaming industry, and My.Games recognizes its importance as a gateway to the fast-growing MENA market,” said owner Alex Chachava.
“We are excited to establish our regional center in Abu Dhabi and look forward to working with local partners and talent to move the industry forward.”
James Hartt, Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development at AD Gaming, added: “My.Games’ selection of Abu Dhabi as their home base for the fast-growing MENA gaming market is another example of the thriving gaming ecosystem AD Gaming has developed. A testament to this. This move supports all aspects of our industry’s continued growth, so we are proud to welcome them to Abu Dhabi and support them in the next step of their journey.”
My.Games has undergone significant changes over the past year, most notably Withdraw from its original Russian home market in December.
The publisher is now headquartered in Amsterdam, and any part of its business that generates revenue in Russia has been spun off into a new separate entity.
Two months ago, the company Acquired by Chachava for $642 million.
