Namrata Shirodkar was at the peak of her acting career when she met Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu. The couple met on the set of Vamsee (2000). This is the debut of Namrata in Telugu. She was a familiar face among the Hindi and Marathi audiences of the time. In retrospect, Namrata doesn’t seem to regret quitting acting after marrying Mahesh.
“I’m a bit lazy in a lot of ways, and for me, nothing is planned like I always say. Everything that happens happens organically. Satisfied with the choices I made,” she said in an interview with YouTube channel Prema the Journalist.
Namrata revealed that she got into modeling by doing it because it was her mother’s will, which shows that she wasn’t very keen on it in the first place. “I started acting, it was the obvious next step, when I really loved my work and thought seriously about my craft, I met Mahesh and we got married. If I took my work seriously, my life would be the same as It’s very different now… so I’m not complaining,” she added.
Namrata even called her marriage to Mahesh the “happiest moment” of her life. “My happiest moment was when Mahesh and I decided we should get married, my whole world changed after that and the whole experience of getting married was amazing. The whole phase of being a mother was a great experience, so I don’t think I would trade it or change anything. It’s not worth it,” she said.
