Actor Namrata Shirodkar has opened up about the conditions she and husband Mahesh Babu set for each other before their marriage. Known for her performances in films such as Vaastav, Pukar and Kachche Dhaage, Namrata married the Telugu star in 2005 and retired from acting. She said she made the decision because Mahesh didn’t want a working wife.

In the same interview, she shared that she has no regrets about quitting acting. She called herself “a bit lazy” and revealed how she started modeling to fulfill her mother’s wishes, suggesting she wasn’t very keen on it in the first place. “I started acting, it was the obvious next step, when I really loved my work and thought about my craft, I met Mahesh and we got married. If I took my work seriously, my life would be the same as It’s very different now…so I’m not complaining,” Namrata Shirodkar added.
She even called her marriage to Mahesh the “happiest moment” of her life. “My happiest moment was when Mahesh and I decided we should get married, my whole world changed after that and the whole experience of getting married was amazing. The whole phase of being a mother was a great experience, so I don’t think I would trade it or change anything. It’s not worth it,” she said.
Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar met and fell in love while filming Vamsi. After nearly five years of courtship, they tied the knot in 2005. The couple have two children, Gautham and Sitara.
