New commitment: Michigan receives verbal commitment from junior national qualifiers for 2023-24 season Jadan Jamila Aurora, Illinois.
Regarding his commitment, he said:

I am so grateful for the support I have received from my family, coaches, teammates and friends throughout my journey. Gamillar trains year-round at the Maverick Swim Club and has a four-time best finish at the Junior Nationals last month after two recent top 15 finishes at the Minneapolis Sectionals. He did well at the NCSA Championships in the spring, finishing 14th in both the 100 breast and 200 IM, and 18th in the 400 IM.
His best moments include:
- 100 Breasts – 55.03
- 200 Breasts – 2:00.92
- 200 IM – 1:48.21
- 400 IM – 3:57.54
- 100 fly – 49.72
- 200 Fly – 1:49.92
Gamilla, currently a senior at Metea Valley High School, placed third in the 100 IM and fourth in the 200 IM at the 2022 Illinois State Championships.
Michigan is third in the 2022 Big Ten League Championship.
