according to CNN, Netflix and Howard University established a US$5.4 million scholarship in the name of Chadwick, called the “Chadwick A. Bosman Memorial Scholarship.” The scholarship will cover four years of tuition for students of the Academy of Fine Arts. A press release details that the scholarship was created with the support of Chadwick’s widow Simone Ledward-Boseman and sponsored by Netflix. The university stated that scholarship recipients will embody “the drive for excellence, leadership, respect, empathy and passion”.
HU President Dr. Wayne AI Frederick said: “This scholarship reflects Chadwick’s love for Howard, his passion for storytelling, and his willingness to support future generations of Howard students. I thank Chadwick’s wife Simone Ledward-Boseman Madam’s continued support and cooperation, thank Netflix for this important gift.”
The report explains how the scholarship will be cancelled. This semester, a scholarship will be awarded every academic year. Thereafter, a freshman will receive a scholarship every year. Priority will be given to students in drama arts courses. Netflix co-CEO and chief content officer Ted Sarandos also talked about this amazing partnership in a statement.
