The bowlers, led by Pasteur, helped the Netherlands beat United Arab Emirates by three wickets in a tight, low-scoring match at the 2020 World Cup on Sunday.
Skipper Scott Edwards remained unbeaten on the 16th as the Netherlands chased their 112-goal with a one-goal advantage in Geelong’s second game of the day.
Emirates pace leader Junaid Siddique returned a 3-24 figure and put his opponents in trouble with two wickets in the 14th, but Edwards insisted his team be First round win.
Delid, an all-round bowler, used his three wickets to take the UAE to a 111-8 lead.
Chosen to bat, the UAE batsmen survived a disciplined Dutch attack, albeit slowly, as they reached 85-2 in the round of 15, with Muhammad Waseem hitting 41 before trailing Yu spearheaded by Fred Klaassen.
With just 26 runs in the final five rounds as UAE slipped from 91-2, Delid struck a 3-pointer in the 19th innings and the wicket sparked the collapse.
In response, Vikram Jit Singh was out with 10 points, but Max O’Dowd hit 23 of 18 balls to give the team a quick start.
Junaid beat O’Dowd in the sixth and Holland suddenly lost wickets and lost control of their modest chase.
Junaid struck twice in the space of three balls including Tom Cooper (8) and Roelof van der Merwe (0), almost a third when captain Chundangapoyil Rizwan took the ball at cover.
The leak proved costly as Edwards and Tim Pringle ran 27 times in the final and sneaked home.
