Dubai has a new British National Curriculum school, giving residents even more options for their children’s education. The school will be located across the street from City Walk in the city center and aims to deliver an inclusive experience-based curriculum, tailored to each child’s strengths and learning approaches.

The Citizens School is twice the size of other schools in the same district, accommodating 2,600 children aged 3-18; a 2,900 square meter open plan play and recreation area.

There is a six-lane semi-covered swimming pool and learning pool compliant with FIFA and World Rugby standards, soccer and rugby pitches; and a dedicated dining area for primary school students. The school also has ample parking spaces and a 1,250-square-meter multi-functional performing arts hall.

Citizens’ 43,000 square meter campus, programs and approaches are carefully planned to reinvent learning, enabling students to thrive as future citizens by focusing on wellbeing, imagination and delivering outstanding outcomes for all young people.

During a ceremony on Wednesday, Dr Abdulla Al Karam, Director-General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), which inaugurated the Dubai Civic School, said, “The Civic School is joining a community of schools committed to a future-proof, well-being-based education that enables students to Thrive in school and in life.

“We welcome Citizens School students, teachers, parents and staff to our community and look forward to their contribution to Dubai’s world-class education sector,” he added.
