U2’s Bono and The Edge are releasing a new documentary.
The musicians have been working with host David Letterman on “Bono and The Edge: Returning with Dave Letterman,” which will air on Disney Plus.
Letterman will join the duo in their native Ireland, culminating in a U2 concert in Dublin.
He said in a statement: “Recently, I won a radio competition. The winner gets to visit Dublin with Bono and The Edge (the broadcast competition part is not real, but I feel like I’m the winner).
“They showed me around, introduced me to their musician friends and performed some of their greatest songs in a small venue. It was a great tour. Got in touch with them – I’m told there are still Vacant. I am the luckiest man on earth. (No info available).”
The documentary is directed by Morgan Neville.
It’s slated for release on March 17, the same day as U2’s new compilation album, “Songs Of Surrender,” featuring “re-imagined and re-recorded” songs.
The record will feature 40 tracks, split across four albums – one of which is named after each of the four members of U2; Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen and Adam Clayton – all curated and produced by The Edge.
He said: “It was really exciting to hear the song interaction, to find the running order of the four albums; to find the surprising twist, to have the opportunity to DJ. Once we had four very different albums, it was easy to see who would become each.”
