New Hindu temple in Dubai: Celebrating India-UAE partnership

[ad_1]

When a Hindu temple in Dubai opened recently, it quickly became a spiritual center for all faiths and has many faces of divinity. This contemporary temple is dedicated to 16 deities as well as the Sikh scriptures of Guru Granth Sahib.

Official guests at the Dubai opening included Sunjay Sudhir, India’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.

“[It’s] A wonderful new development. The opening of this new temple in Dubai means a lot to the Indian community,” Mr Sudhir told Euronews.

“Especially this temple, [is] Such a beautiful aesthetic temple, it is a work of art in itself,” he added.

Sunjay Sudhir has been India’s Ambassador to the UAE for a year, during which time he has witnessed the signing of the Comprehensive Partnership Agreement between the two countries.

“For India, this is the first CEPA that we have signed in the past decade,” he told Euronews.

“Our leaders have also issued a vision document … a future roadmap of how they want this relationship to develop”.

The vision includes cooperation in the areas of investment in renewable energy, fintech, health, partnerships and energy security.

“There is so much money flowing from the UAE to Indian startups that today there are about 107 unicorns (private startups valued at over $1 billion) in India. Many of these unicorns are funded by the UAE ,” revealed Sunjay Sudhir.

“so [the] Both the UAE and India firmly believe that both countries are an integral part of each other’s future, which is why the two countries work together so well. People click together too,” he added.

Sunjay Sudhir started his career some 30 years ago in Egypt, where he received language training in Arabic before being sent to Syria and back to Delhi.

Afterwards, he traveled to Sri Lanka and then to Geneva. Sydney followed, after which he became ambassador to the Maldives and now to the UAE.

“It’s a criss-crossing world, playing very different roles, but all the same, very rich, very, very rich for me because the canvas is so vast and the colors so rich,” he said.

“Just after coming [to the UAE] Being part of this relationship and being given the responsibility to manage it as the Ambassador of India, I realize there is a lot more to be done because everyone here is very open, both in India and in India.”

“There’s a lot going on. I realize the sky is the limit here”.
