When Creedence Clearwater Revival hit the stage at the Royal Albert Hall on April 14, 1970—just days after the Beatles announced their disbandment—the California rock band arguably had just become the biggest band in the world. As Jeff Bridges recounts in the film, CCR had an unprecedented “magic year” ahead of the show. “In just 12 months, the band achieved five Top 10 singles and three Top 10 albums [Bayou Country, Green River, Willy and the Poor Boys] In the U.S. charts, it sold more than the Beatles.they were in the legend The Ed Sullivan Show And played for more than a million people across the United States, including hundreds of thousands who gathered in Woodstock. “John, Tom, Stu and Doug” may not have the familiar ring of “John, Paul, George and Ringo,” but Creedence is challenging The Beatles for the title of the biggest band in the world. During a two-night sold-out residency at the iconic venue, CCR not only followed in the footsteps of the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and the Beatles, but proved they were all equal.

Although Creedence Clearwater Revival would part ways two years later, speculation about a live recording of that legendary concert began to seep through their fan base in 1980.That same year, Fantasy Records released the band’s live album, erroneously titled Concert at the Royal Albert Hall. It soon became apparent that the audio was actually the audio of the Oakland Coliseum performance captured a few months earlier. When the record label hurriedly put a correction on the album and correctly renamed the January 1970 show as concert For later production runs – the actual footage of the Royal Albert Hall remains rock and roll legend…until now.

During their brief time together as a band (1968-1972), trustworthy Enjoyed a period of unparalleled creativity – releasing seven studio albums (two of which reached No. 1), touring more than 150 times around the world, including headline performances at Woodstock, and Got 14 top ten singles. To this day, Creedence is a mainstay band, amassing 4 billion streams in 2021. For over 50 years, Creedence’s classics have become part of the great American songbook. Songs such as “Bad Moon Rise”, “In the Corner”, “Lucky Son”, “Have You Seen Rain”, “Proud Mary”, “Born in the Estuary”, “Travel Band” and “Up Around” “The Bend” has become ingrained into pop culture—not just as a rock staple, but as a timeless standard. With so many memorable productions, Creedence Clearwater Revival continues to grace the airwaves, TV, and movie screens, And with lyrics that still resonate today, Creedence Clearwater Revival truly is America’s greatest rock band.
