Academy Award-nominated actress Amy Irving (Yentl, across the Delancey) grew up in theater and film with her director father, Jules Irving, and actress mother, Priscilla Pointer. suburban outpost is a Montclair nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to building community through music and volunteerism. Now in its 35th year, the Outpost has hosted concerts by internationally acclaimed artists such as Jodie Collins, Roger McQueen, Jomma Caukognen, Jimmy Webb, Rich Havens, The Jayhawks, Nicolo and Dar Williams. In addition to performing concerts, Outpost volunteers donate many hours of their time to programs with Montclair’s Human Needs Food Pantry, New Jersey Community Food Banks, MESH (Montclair Hope Emergency Services), and facilities run by Outpost volunteers.
