New Jersey provides $500 for the unemployed to find a job

[ad_1]

New Jersey is ready to let residents return to work, so much so that they even pay people to find jobs!

Thanks to a new state plan announced this week, unemployed residents returning to work can receive a $500 bonus on their first salary. New York Post report.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy stated that the “Return and Earn” program aims to solve the labor shortage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Murphy said in a statement: “This plan will help companies and their workers, and is another step we are taking to boost the economy.”

Workers hired through the incentive program will receive an additional $500 in rework.

Companies with 100 or fewer employees are also eligible for wage subsidies of up to $10,000 to hire and train new employees to join the workforce. According to the plan, they need to pay at least $15 per hour for the positions they fill.

Throughout the pandemic, small businesses have been hit by a shortage of workers. Some critics blame the increased COVID-19 unemployment benefits, making things a little too easy to leave home.

As of last month, the employment rate in New Jersey was 7.2%, down from 7.8% at the beginning of the year.

New Jersey is not the only place to fight unemployment. Now that people in all walks of life are required to be vaccinated, these jobs may become more difficult to fill.

In New York, Governor Kathy Hochul announced that health care workers are now required to be vaccinated immediately, and those who refuse to be vaccinated are at risk of being fired or suspended.
