The MINI Cooper Electric has now launched the next generation of the MINI family. The new version of the iconic MINI 3-door has been designed for electric driving pleasure and is available in two power levels. With its exciting and agile driving, the MINI Cooper Electric represents the future of locally emission-free premium mobility.
Initially launched in 2020, the all-electric MINI Cooper SE has seen sales increase by 25.5% in 2022, making it the most popular MINI model to date, with more than 43,000 local emissions-free MINIs sold globally last year. One in five MINIs on the road is now electric.
The millionth production anniversary of the current (fourth generation) MINI three-door is a testament to the continued great success of the original MINI. Also fully electric, the car was shipped to Canada.
Electric go-kart feeling
In the new MINI family, the MINI Cooper E with an output of 135 kW and the MINI Cooper SE with an output of 160 kW offer full torque right from the start. It accelerates without delay and doesn’t interrupt gear changes.
A lithium-ion high-voltage battery is installed in the floor of the MINI Cooper Electric for optimum grip and weight distribution, while also increasing the vehicle’s stability and agility. In this way, MINI redefines the brand’s signature go-kart feel, consistently continuing a concept of urban driving fun that has been so successful for more than 60 years.
MINI was able to draw on the development expertise within the BMW Group to further improve the driving dynamics of the new MINI Cooper Electric. From the launch of the redesigned MINI 3-door in 2001 to the forthcoming fifth generation, the car has remained firmly entrenched in the company’s brand history.
Continuous advances in the areas of technology, efficiency and power transmission reflect the careful handling of the traditional history of the popular MINI models, which now once again take driving pleasure to a new level.
Improved range and maximum flexibility
The battery capacity of the MINI Cooper E is 40.7 kWh, while that of the MINI Cooper SE is 54.2 kWh. This provides new models with a forecast range of 300 to 400 kilometers, significantly increasing the radius of visits in and around urban environments.
With its signature MINI space concept, the MINI Cooper Electric demonstrates maximum flexibility in a special-purpose vehicle. Offering maximum variability, the interior was designed to allow expansion of the luggage compartment volume and include seating for four.
Together with the MINI Countryman, which will be produced at the BMW Group’s Leipzig plant from November 2023, the new MINI Cooper Electric is ready for MINI’s all-electric future. The MINI Aceman will complete the new model range from 2024 onwards. — trade arab news agency
