Schools have officially resumed classes in Shreveport, but that doesn’t mean there’s still not much activity in the arts and entertainment.
From new murals debuting in the city, to places to find new places to eat outside of Shreveport, to nonprofits looking to feed and educate their communities, you might be missing out on these.

Sometimes you’ll find yourself stuck in a restaurant stereotype, and it can seem daunting to get out of town to try something new. I’ve rounded up three restaurants to try and they’re only 30 minutes from Shreveport to help.

Local consultant Valencia Jones organized a GoFundMe to help high school students with personal hygiene essentials for the new school year. High school is scary enough, don’t worry about hygiene products, Learn more about Jones and her “Be Blessed Bags.”
Beautify Shreveport
Local artists Ka’Davien Baylor, Ben Moss, Eric Francis and Willie A. Love have been hard at work creating a new mural for downtown Shreveport. On Thursday, August 4, the new mural was unveiled and dedicated by prominent Shreveport figures.
