[ad_1]

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Interior has launched a national campaign through Child Protection Centers to protect children from balcony accidents under the slogan “Our children’s lives are a trust”.

The campaign aims to raise community awareness of the importance of continuous monitoring and compliance with necessary measures to protect children from falling from open windows.

The campaign will provide educational tips and instructions on how to prevent children from falling accidents from windows and balconies. It will also work with strategic partners to activate an integrated smart system to spread awareness through various social media channels.

What the UAE Law Says

Article 349 of the Federal Penal Code of the United Arab Emirates stipulates that anyone who alone or through others endangers minors under the age of 15, or who cannot protect himself due to health, mental or psychological conditions, shall be punished as follows: imprisonment for less than two years. If the child was left unattended at the time of the incident, the sentence increases to three years.

To achieve its goals, the campaign will include expanding media awareness in multiple languages, as well as seminars and specialized workshops with experts in the field.

It will also provide publications and videos reflecting the concept and importance of the movement to raise awareness.

The campaign will educate the public about the various communication options for reporting incidents with children, including the Smart Reporting System provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the hotline number 116111 and electronic reporting protection through the Ministry of Home Affairs Children’s Center website (www.moi-cpc.gov.ae) , email 116111@moi.gov.ae, and the Hemayati app for smart devices.

The Child Protection Center of the Ministry of the Interior is responsible for developing, implementing and codifying initiatives and procedures aimed at providing safety, security and protection to all children living in the UAE or visiting their families.
