good entertainment CEO Vanessa Shapiro revealed Wednesday that it has hired David Hickey (above right) as its first head of production to oversee work on its new miniseries in Arizona room.
Hickey most recently served as creative executive producer for Real One Entertainment in Canada, where he will report to Shapiro and oversee operations and production, including “Mysteries of the Heart,” starring Ansley Gordon (“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”), pictured above left Show.
“Mystery of the Heart” is the first film on Nicely’s 2023 Arizona production slate.
Los Angeles-based Nicely was founded three years ago as an independent production and distribution studio that has released more than 50 films since its inception.
Hickey has 25 years of experience and over 90 development and production credits, including A&E films including “Here Kills the Bride” and “Crazy Neighbor Mom.”
“In addition to our distribution operations in Los Angeles and Paris, we plan to establish a preeminent mini-studio in Arizona in 2023 with the goal of shooting about four films a year there,” Shapiro said. “Having released more than 50 films in just three years, we are excited to expand our business and welcome a talented creative executive like David to lead our content production team. We expect this year to be a milestone in the growth of Nicely Entertainment Huge milestone, both in terms of the number of titles on our roster and our global distribution footprint.”
Hickey added: “I have been watching the growth of Nicely Entertainment over the past few years and have been impressed with the quality and number of projects the company has produced under Vanessa’s leadership.
