This commitment was marked by the signing of the SDG5 pledge to accelerate gender balance in the UAE private sector at an event organized by the UAE Gender Balance Council.

The SDG5 pledge to accelerate gender balance in the UAE’s private sector aims to increase the percentage of women in leadership positions to 30% by 2025, ensuring their full and effective participation in decision-making at the highest levels. double the female workforce

As a testament to its efforts, Nissan doubled the number of women in its workforce in its Africa, Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania (AMIEO) region between 2019 and 2022. By fostering a culture of gender equality, Nissan continues to set an example for the automotive industry, driving positive change and inspiring others to follow.

Following the signing of the pledge, Nissan joined Mona Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Government Media Office, and members of the UAE Gender Balance Council for a roundtable discussion on key topics related to gender equality. The dialogue shed light on the UAE’s policy gaps and opportunities around gender balance, the skills needed to achieve the UAE’s economic goals, and strategies to advance public-private partnerships to realize the UAE’s vision.
