North Korea to expel US soldier for border breach

North Korea will expel American soldier Travis King, who confessed to illegally crossing the border due to dissatisfaction with mistreatment and racial discrimination within the US army and disillusionment with American society, according to state media KCNA.

The expulsion will be carried out in accordance with North Korean law, although details regarding the timing and destination were not disclosed.

King, an army private, made a sudden border crossing from South to North Korea in July. This expulsion occurred relatively swiftly compared to previous cases of soldiers attempting to defect to North Korea.
