Abu Dhabi: UAE citizens can apply to obtain, renew or replace lost or damaged UAE passports through five channels identified by the UAE Digital Government, including: General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs/Citizenship, Nationality and Residence Portal (eChannels), Passport Services for Citizens via the Internet – Federal Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), and Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah Airports.
According to Digital Government, the General Directorates of Residency and Foreigners Affairs at Abu Dhabi and Dubai airports provide passport renewal services at the airports around the clock. If a citizen is abroad and his passport is expired, lost or damaged, he must contact the UAE embassy or consulate to obtain a new passport.
The digital government states that the new passport is valid for no more than five years, therefore, its holders must apply for a new passport and submit 3 documents: the household registration book or a copy thereof, the original ID card or a copy of it and a recent personal photo , you need to surrender your old passport.
