The national festival will include more than 90 special events that will take place during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Doha: Qatar will host a variety of cultural and entertainment activities for the whole family during this year’s FIFA World Cup™ from 20 November to 18 December.
The national festival will include more than 90 special events that will take place during the tournament, which marks today’s 100-day countdown. Major events will include game viewing areas, music festivals, cultural displays and street performances.
During the FIFA World Cup™, the country’s core entertainment will be the Corniche, a 6-kilometer route that stretches from the Sheraton Hotel to the Islamic Art Park Museum in a carnival atmosphere. It will feature touring performances, cultural events, food and beverage stalls and retail outlets. During peak hours, more than 120,000 people will be able to visit Corniche.
Fans attending the game will experience a range of entertainment activities near all eight stadiums. Last Mile Cultural Events will feature over 6,000 performances in 21 locations. Special highlights will include visual arts, crafts and heritage, fashion and design, performing arts, music and film screenings.
Beyond the stadium, football fans will flock to the FIFA Fan Festival at Al Bidda Park, which will showcase every match live and feature stage performances, food and beverage outlets, cultural events and sponsor events.
The FIFA Fan Festival will open on November 20 with a capacity of up to 40,000 visitors. In addition, fan zones will be set up in the Industrial Zone and Al Khor. More details will be announced soon.
Fans will be able to enjoy theme park rides and other attractions including ice skating and circus shows at Al Maha Island Lusail. There will also be a beach club and a range of dining options, including high-end and casual dining. Al Maha Island Lusail will also host a series of concerts and performances for all ages.
Music fans will also be well looked after during the competition. The Arcadia Spectacular dance and music festival will be held near Ras Bu Fontas metro station with a capacity of up to 15,000 fans, while another music event hosted by MDLBEAST will be held in Al Wakrah and is expected to attract 5,000 fans.
Another tourist hotspot will be the 974 Beach Club near 974 Stadium, which will offer music, events, food and beverage options, and retail booths for up to 10,000 guests. Additionally, Lusail Boulevard, near the stadium where the FIFA World Cup™ Finals will be held, will host street performances for approximately 50,000 people every day.
In addition, a wide range of cultural and entertainment activities will be offered to fans of the country’s major tourist destinations, including museums, Souq Waqif, Katara Cultural Village and Msheireb Doha city centre.
