Green mobility technology company NWTN will build an electric vehicle assembly plant in Abu Dhabi, it was announced on Tuesday.
Under the agreement, UAE-based NWTN plans to initially operate a 25,000-square-meter manufacturing, R&D, vehicle testing and logistics facility built by KIZAD with an annual capacity of 5,000-10,000 vehicles.
In the second phase, the North West plans to launch several new electric vehicle models and expand production capacity to 50,000 vehicles per year.

The announcement, which will be Abu Dhabi’s first EV assembly facility, follows a recent regulatory update by the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy aimed at accelerating the development of EV infrastructure as part of Abu Dhabi’s Low Emission Vehicle Strategy. The new production facility is also in line with the UAE’s 2050 Net Zero Agenda.
