NYU Abu Dhabi College returns to live programming with new season of inspiring lectures

Abu Dhabi, UAE: After more than two years of online events, the New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) Institute has announced the resumption of face-to-face meetings starting September 8. The fall lineup offers a wide range of topics including physics lectures, heritage lectures, history, politics and architecture. The events will be held at the NYU Conference Center and are free to the public.

Nadia El Cheikh, Vice Provost for Culture and Research Engagement, commented: “After two years of virtual talks, we are delighted to see the return of in-person programming. This fall course offers a very diverse range of speakers, presentations and sessions covering Topics of local and global significance. We strongly believe in the vital role we play as a convergence of academics, professionals and leaders from around the world, providing free first-hand knowledge, discourse and expert services to the wider community. “

The Academy will also launch three series this season; these include Andalus series, Environment and the Middle East series, and Charity Series. The season starts on September 8 with a discussion titled Learn about our universe from 2 kilometers undergroundfeaturing the Nobel Prize winner in physics, MacDonald.

In addition, the Institute will work with 50U The team highlighted the UAE’s 50th anniversary book, hosting some of the people interviewed for the project, including 50U Francesco Degl’Innocenti and Ramesh Shukla, the photographers behind some of the UAE’s most iconic photos.

The institute will also organize a Prophet Muhammad’s Eternal Gift to Humanity By Craig Considine, Author The Humanity of Muhammad – A Christian Perspective.

As Dubai organizes the International Council of Museums (ICOM) General Assembly in 2025, the institute will invite Rashad Bukhash, President of ICOM UAE Chapter, to give a presentation titled “The Evolution of Architecture in the UAE”. This will be in partnership with the UAE’s Architectural Heritage Association.

In addition to free public lectures, the Institute will organize a series of conferences focusing on different fields of study such as science, arts, social sciences and engineering; prior registration is required.An overview of the fall 2022 program is detailed below; more talks and conferences to follow soon here and published on the Institute’s social media platforms.
