OLT December Holiday Entertainment
Christmas at the Ouachita Little Theater is always extra fun for our guests. We offer live family entertainment that people of all ages will enjoy.
First up is “A Seussified Christmas Carol,” a lively Junior Ouachita production performed by young people of all school ages. Directed by Makayla Ortiz and Lexie Payne, these young women are rehearsing with a large cast for a play written in unique Dr. Seuss rhymes and five steps. Costumes and sets reflect the whimsical style of nostalgic Dr. Seuss we all love. Take the family to one of five shows recently rescheduled for December 9th, 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th. Shows on Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday matinee at 2:30pm. Tickets are $10 each and premium reserved seating is available online at oltmena.com. You can also buy tickets at the door. Season tickets are accepted for this show.
On 14th December the OLT will host their last Wednesday night of 2022 at Lryic. We’ll be showing the classic film “White Christmas” starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera Allen. By popular demand, this favorite musical is sure to get you in the festive spirit, especially when you watch it with your friends and family at the classic Old Opera House. The experience ends with hot popcorn, candy, hot chocolate and soft drinks. Join us at 6:30 pm; as always, admission is free, great prices!
Also saving you money is our last offering for the holiday season. On Friday, December 16th at 7:30pm OLT is delighted to once again host the house music group Harmony. They have been delighting our audience with their Christmas show for the past few years. Admission is by donation, so just put what you can afford in the donation jar. It’s one of the best ways to enjoy the holidays through musical entertainment, a nod to what’s really going on this season. No appointment needed, come and enjoy!
The February Winter Comedy Auditions, directed by Amanda Baker, will be held at the OLT on December 15th from 5:00-8:00pm and December 17th from 10:00am-noon. Screenplay selections will be announced shortly; check website or Facebook for updates.
Our first event for 2023 will be a tribute to Roy Orbison by entertainer David K ​​on Saturday 21st January at 2:00pm. The talented performer thrilled the local audience with Roy Orbison’s voice and legendary music in one spectacular show. Tickets, $20, are on sale now at oltmena.com.
