These airports also recorded 94,538 flights, a clear testament to their operational excellence.
That’s not all: Abu Dhabi International Airport and Al Ain International Airport handled a combined 297,791 tonnes of air cargo between January and June.
The top five countries by AUH passenger traffic in the first half of 2022 are India, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Meanwhile, the top five destination airports are London Heathrow, Derry, Mumbai, Cochin and Cairo.
Shareef Hashim Al Hashmi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “Our passenger traffic results for the first half of the year represent another big step forward for Abu Dhabi Airports and the wider industry. While 2021 has been a successful year , but the goal for 2022 is always to build on this momentum by catering to more travelers and expanding our airline network with our partners, while maintaining the highest levels of service excellence.”
