The Pakistan Cricket Team has left for Dubai on its way to the upcoming Cricket World Cup in India. Led by star batsman Babar Azam, the team faced challenges securing visas for their neighboring country.
The squad, decked out in green-and-white attire, departed last evening. Azam shared photos of the team on X (formerly Twitter) ahead of the tournament, expressing gratitude for the support of Pakistan cricket fans and well-wishers.
Pakistan will engage in two warm-up matches before commencing their World Cup journey against the Netherlands on October 6. The highly anticipated clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is scheduled for October 14 in Ahmedabad.
It’s worth noting that India and Pakistan only face each other in multi-team events like the World Cup and Asia Cup, as bilateral cricket between the two nations remains suspended. India opted to play their matches in Sri Lanka instead of touring Pakistan for the recent Asia Cup, which took place from August 30 to September 17.
