Pakistan: Karachi is partially blocked to curb the spread of Delta Covid variants-News

He said that Karachi had 20% of cases in the past few weeks, but after the Eid al-Adha holiday, the virus also spread in rural areas, and as people returned home, the virus rose from 2% to 6%.

According to data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the military agency responsible for overseeing the epidemic response, of the 220 million population, more than 27.8 million have been vaccinated once, but only 5.9 million have been fully vaccinated.

The lockdown will last until August 9, and will focus on the city’s retail industry. Basic services will be open.
