Pakistan says threat to New Zealand cricketers comes from India | Cricket News

New Zealand cancelled its tour to Pakistan a few hours before the start of the first game last Friday.

Pakistan accused a person in India of sending threatening emails on condition of anonymity, resulting in New Zealand abandons the Cricket Tour A few hours before the start of the first game.

New Zealand cancelled its plan last Friday, citing specific security threats to its cricket team, but did not disclose the details of the threat.

New Zealand’s withdrawal dealt a huge blow to Pakistan’s hopes of hosting regular international cricket matches, and England subsequently cancelled the tournament.

“The email was sent from an associated device in India using a VPN [a virtual private network], Showing the location of Singapore’s IP address,” Pakistan’s Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry told reporters on Wednesday.

Chowdhury claimed that New Zealand received threatening emails before arriving in Pakistan on September 11, including an email sent to Martin Guptill’s wife in which the cricketer received death threats.

The information minister said that preliminary investigations in Pakistan revealed that the equipment used to send emails to Guptill’s wife was also registered in India.

Chowdhury stated that Pakistan will seek the help of Interpol to investigate the matter.

“We believe this is a sport against international cricket,” Chowdhury said.

At the same time, England cancelled the men’s and women’s team tournaments originally scheduled to be held in Pakistan in October on the grounds of the players’ “physical and mental health.”

However, the British High Commissioner to Pakistan wrote on Twitter that he did not object to the tour on the grounds of safety, and the Cricket Committee made its own decision.

“The British High Commission supported this trip; it did not oppose it on security grounds; our travel advice to Pakistan has not changed,” Christian Turner said. “This is a decision made by the European Central Bank. It is independent of the British government and is based on concerns about the welfare of players.”

England plans to visit Pakistan at the end of 2022 for testing and limited games, and Turner stated that he “will redouble his efforts before the England 2022 Autumn Tour.”

On Tuesday, Ramiz Raja, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Committee Lash out In what he called the “Western Bloc,” he said that they “utilized and destroyed” his country.

After armed fighters attacked the Sri Lankan bus in Lahore in 2009, Pakistan has been a restricted area for international cricket teams for ten years.

The ambush killed 7 people and injured several Sri Lankan cricketers.

The international team resumed touring Pakistan in 2019.
