Pakistan will face the UAE in Lahore for a two-match series. The games will be played at the iconic Punjab Stadium from July 4-8. The Punjab Stadium hosted the Asian Rugby Men’s Division 2 last year, with Pakistan advancing to Division 1 with a win over Thailand.
Pakistan, currently ranked 91 in the world rugby rankings, will take on the United Arab Emirates, ranked 62. The UAE will return to 15-a-side rugby for the first time in three years after promotion from the second tier in 2019. In the final, they beat Guam 82-7 and Thailand 50-12 in the final at True Arena in Hua Hin, Thailand.
The UAE team is coached by Apollo Perelini, who has been instrumental in improving the UAE team’s performance at all levels. He also serves as Executive Director of the UAE Rugby Federation.
