Since the relaxation of entry restrictions for stranded Pakistanis, the airline has been improving its operational capabilities.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has increased flights to the UAE, connecting Ras Al Khaimah with the four major cities in this South Asian country.
The national airline began operating flights from Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi to the northern emirates on August 28.
This will provide significant relief to Pakistanis stranded in their home country to resume work and reunite with their families. After several months of suspension of passenger flights, UAE authorities announced earlier this month that passengers from Pakistan, one of the six restricted countries, can return to the UAE, provided they meet certain criteria.
Since the UAE relaxed entry restrictions for residents stranded in Pakistan, PIA has been improving its operational capabilities. Pre-entry conditions include pre-approval from the Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration, a negative PCR test valid for 48 hours, and a rapid PCR test 6 hours before flight departure.

PIA is already operating flights from all major cities in Pakistan to different emirates in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
Recently, all airlines have cooperated with local laboratories to set up facilities in airports across Pakistan to conduct rapid PCR testing in accordance with the instructions of the UAE to the authorities.
“We see a great opportunity in Ras Al Khaimah, because now Pakistan has a huge demand for air travel. We are deploying a large aircraft Boeing 777 to meet the demand. We have also increased from Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore , Karachi and Sialkot’s Sharjah capacity,” said Shahid Mughal, PIA’s UAE Regional Manager.
