According to local media reports on Saturday, Pakistani veteran comedian Umer Sharif passed away in Germany.
When his health deteriorated, the 66-year-old Sharif had been on the way to the United States for treatment.

In early September, Sharif asked the Pakistani government to help him receive treatment abroad. Video recorded for local news media. He has been suffering from an undisclosed disease.
Sharif, who appeared to be clearly ill, said in the video: “My doctor told me that for better treatment, I will have to go abroad. I believe I have helped Imran Khan as much as possible, with Shaukat Kanum. Memorial Hospital.”
“The doctor told me that I can get the best treatment in the United States. I, Umer Sharif, are now speaking to Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan Sahab. Whenever you call me anything, I’ve always been by your side, that’s why I believe you will be by my side.”
Shah Bazgir, a spokesman for Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, later told his followers that Khan’s office had contacted Sharif to facilitate his request.
