The Pakistani Embassy in Abu Dhabi held a reception to commemorate Pakistan’s National Day. The event was attended by many diplomatic missions, UAE officials, prominent business personalities and the Pakistani community residing in the UAE. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Cabinet Member and Minister of Tolerance, was also present at the event.
Highlights of the reception included a photo exhibition of Jimmy Engineer’s artwork, a violin performance by Ustad Rais and an introduction to Haniya Rais Tirmizi’s poem titled “Pakistan”.
Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi highlighted the importance of Pakistan’s National Day as it lays the groundwork for an independent homeland for Muslims in the subcontinent.
The day also marks the long and arduous struggle for the establishment of Pakistan in 1947 and its subsequent nation-building and socio-economic development.
Ambassador Thirmiz said that we are proud of the many successful cases in Pakistan today in the fields of science and technology, art, medicine, and philanthropy. Pakistan has also been able to develop impenetrable defenses against all external and internal threats. Today’s Pakistan is strong, confident, moderate and ready to meet all challenges.
The ambassador also stressed that Pakistan offers great opportunities. Ease of doing business, for example, improved by 39 notches; Telephone density is one of the highest in the region; Pakistan leads Central and South Asia in global innovation; Social protection measures in Pakistan are praised and recognized around the world.
The Ambassador emphasized the need to fully utilize the potential of Pakistani youth and their geo-economic position with the support of Pakistani friends and socio-economic development partners.
