Paramount Renews Multi-Year First Look Agreement With Temple Hill Entertainment – ​​Variety

Paramount Pictures renews multi-year first-run film deal Miaoshan EntertainmentThe two companies recently teamed up on the creepy thriller “Smile,” which grossed a surprise $200 million worldwide.

Under the terms of the agreement, Temple Hill Entertainment will continue to develop films for Paramount Pictures and its Paramount Players division. On the TV front, Temple Hill still has a pre-emptive subscription agreement with Lionsgate.

“Temple Hill has a proven track record of making films that really connect with people. Wyck Marty and Isaac have been incredible collaborators in the ten years we’ve known them, and more importantly, we’ve also seen them as Friends,” said Paramount Pictures co-presidents Michael Ireland and Daria Cercek. “We’re excited to expand this relationship so we can continue to find new ways to reach audiences together.”

Paramount Pictures and Temple Hill are already developing several films, including adaptations of the books “A Summer in Italy,” “Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow” and “Children of Blood and Bone.” There’s also a remake of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “The King and I” and an adaptation of the role-playing game “Alice is Missing.”

Temple Hill Entertainment was founded in 2006 by Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen. Godfrey served as president of Paramount Pictures Group from 2017 to 2020 before returning to Temple Hill Entertainment as a producer. At the company, Bowen and Godfrey are joined as collective producers, along with film president Isaac Klausner, senior vice president of development John Fischer, and vice president of development Laura Quicksilver.

Godfrey and Bowen co-produced a number of successful film franchises, notably the “Twilight Saga” saga and the “Maze Runner” trilogy, as well as “The Fault in Our Stars”, “The Hate You Give” and “Love U, Simon”. “
