A partial solar eclipse is a rare event that occurs when the Moon is between the Sun and Earth. As the name suggests, the moon is only a disk that partially covers the sun.
when to look up
The astronomical spectacle is expected to begin at 2.42pm and end at 4.54pm. You can see the maximum solar eclipse at 3.52pm local time.
You need eclipse glasses to watch outdoors
According to the DAG, the eclipse cannot be viewed without proper eye protection because it could cause “permanent damage” to the eyes.
Viewers need to buy eclipse glasses. When viewed through this filter, the sun will appear a natural orange color.
virtual tour
The DAG will host a paid event on October 25 at the Al Thuraya Astronomical Centre in Mushrif Park. The event will include an explanation of the spectacle, telescopes for viewing and capturing the eclipse, and eclipse glasses.
Fares start from Dh30 per person.
