Lady Penny Lancaster-Stuart feels ‘grateful’ there were no major incidents during Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
The 51-year-old model – who will become a SWAT in 2021 – was on duty outside Buckingham Palace in London on Monday (09/19/22) and Penny was delighted that the state funeral went well.
Penny – who is married to music star Sir Rod Stewart – praised the public for paying tribute to the monarch “in an appropriate manner”.
She added in an interview with Sky News: “You can never fully predict how the crowd will react and the dangers that may arise.
“But we’ve trained and prepared well and luckily everyone has paid their respects in a proper way and we don’t have any events to speak of. So, [I’m] Very grateful for that. “
Penny was inspired to join the police force after starring in the British reality TV series Famous and Fighting Crime.
The former model has previously opened up about her new role.
Earlier this year, Penny, who married Rhodes in 2007, shared: “Around 200 hours a year, that’s the equivalent of working a mile a week in London’s city square (including the bridge there).
“It was mostly foot patrols, but I also had the opportunity to try other areas of policing, such as working in vehicles, working with sniffer dogs and operations such as the London Marathon, the Mayor’s Show and the upcoming Jubilee.
“I think it’s especially helpful as a mum to have the patience and empathy to deal with teens. A lot of times you think about the police, you think about crime, but you’re dealing with a victim.”
