Roskilde, Denmark. December 22, 2022 – Photocat today signed a product delivery contract with UAE concrete company “Fujairah Concrete Products”. This is Photocat’s first sales agreement in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region and is the result of an intensive marketing campaign to supply our photocatalytic technology for respective air purification projects.

Fujairah Concrete Products is a leading concrete manufacturer in the United Arab Emirates.

Photocat has a strong concrete patent position covering the use of photocatalysis in wet and dry concrete. It is also important to society in the GCC region, as attention to air quality and reduction of nitrogen oxides is part of improving the quality of life in the region. For example, Dubai’s official aspiration is to be the most sustainable city in the world by 2050.

The agreement has sales of approximately EUR 30,000 and will not affect the financial results for the 2022 calendar year. Physical delivery will take place by the end of 2022, with payment due in the first quarter of 2023.

The WHO recently made it clear that air quality thresholds need to be lowered to save more lives and provide residents with a higher quality of life. Current nitrogen dioxide pollution levels are on average six times higher than the threshold recommended by the World Health Organization. Photocat believes its UV/sunlight powered technology will be one of the most energy efficient air quality improvers in the GCC region, cost effective with a fast return on investment.
