Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced regular flights to Fujairah from three major cities in Pakistan, Khaliji Times Have learned it.
The flag carrier will open its first flight from Lahore to Fujairah on October 25, while flights from Islamabad and Peshawar will open on October 27.
Since the UAE relaxed entry restrictions for residents stranded in Pakistan, PIA has been improving its operational capabilities. In August, PIA opened flights from Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi to Ras Al Khaimah.
The flag carrier has already operated flights from all major cities in Pakistan to different emirates in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
Airbus-320 joins the PIA fleet
At the same time, PIA also announced that it has acquired an Airbus 320 on a dry lease for a period of six years. This is the third aircraft currently under management that will be included in the airline’s fleet.
“Another Airbus 320 arrived at Islamabad International Airport from the French city of Perpignan via Egypt. This aircraft will join the PIA fleet in the next few days,” a PIA spokesperson said.

This is the second aircraft purchased by dry lease this year. Three weeks ago, the airline also purchased an aircraft and included it in regular flight operations.
The spokesperson said: “As the latest A320 joins its fleet, PIA will operate 11 Airbuses on domestic and international routes and generate more revenue.”
When talking about PIA’s business plan, he said that the flag carrier will introduce more aircraft to its fleet in the next few days.
Air Marshal Arshad Malik, Chief Executive Officer of PIA, expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan and the Ministry of Finance for their cooperation in purchasing aircraft.
“Purchasing new and improved aircraft will significantly increase PIA’s productivity,” Malik said.
He said that the national flag carrier has recently raised its operating and safety standards in accordance with best international practices.
