Piers Morgan has slammed Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, as “vicious”.
The 57-year-old broadcaster – who knew Meghan before she married Prince Harry – claimed Meghan, 41, was “systematically trying to undermine the royal family and the monarchy”.
Denying he has a “crazy obsession” with Meghan, he told the Daily Mail’s Weekend Magazine: “I think it’s a naive way of looking at it. Over the past few years, she has deliberately allowed herself and Harry Make one big story together. My job, on my morning show there, in my newspaper column, is to comment on the news.
“I haven’t written more about them than any other columnist. It’s just because people know I knew her before she met Harry. They knew she never met me the moment she met Harry Speaking, I just thought it was rude and weird. I can’t pretend it didn’t form my opinion of her character.
“I try to be fair, but it’s hard for her. At her core, you have a very vicious guy who is systematically trying to undermine the royal family and the monarchy.”
Pierce also slammed Prince Harry, 38, who, along with Meghan, is stepping down as senior royal to move to California in 2020.
He said: “As someone who was raised as a murderous royalist, I found it offensive and had to stop. So if I had a platform, I would use it because it was destructive. I think Harry was basically the same.
“The two of them have whipped themselves into this victimization frenzy, which manifests itself in constant attacks.”
