SEPANG: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Thursday (September) after completing a working visit to New York and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). 29) and return to Malaysia in the evening.
The plane carrying the Prime Minister and his delegation arrived at the Bunga Raya Complex at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at around 10.30pm.
The prime minister spent four days each in New York and the UAE.
He was greeted by hundreds of people at Kuala Lumpur International Airport who praised his historic speech in their native language at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
Among those present were Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka staff and representatives from the Malaysian National Writers Association (Pena), who held up several placards, one of which read: “Ismail Sabri. (Ismail Sabri) was a national hero who made national languages solemn on the world stage”.
At the United Nations General Assembly, which brought together more than 150 world leaders, Ismail Sabri delivered a national statement entirely in Malay – the first time a Malaysian leader has done so at the world’s largest diplomatic gathering Do.
He also touched on a variety of international issues, including conflicts in Ukraine, Myanmar and Palestine, as well as food security and climate change. -Bernama
